A mother has told how her six-year-old son saved her life and that of his unborn brother when she suddenly passed out.
Julie Argent, who was eight months pregnant , was running son Chay’s bath when she fell unconscious into the water.
The 34-year-old - who is suffering from pre-eclampsia - could have drowned.
But quick-thinking Chay turned off the taps filling the bath, phoned his grandmother and then dialled 999.
Chay, who knew what to do after going on a St John Ambulance first aid course , then stayed on the line for 12 minutes until help arrived.
Just two days later Chay’s brother Loan was born on August 1.
Julie, 34, of Talgarth, Mid Wales, said: “Chay knew from the start he had saved my life.
"It wasn't until later on he realised he had saved two lives - when his little brother arrived safely in the world.
"I will never be able to thank him enough.
“The doctors and nurses were all talking about what he’d done.
"He was presented with a certificate from all the midwives and staff on the maternity ward for his outstanding bravery.”
"Chay is extremely proud of his little brother. He is a great help with the new baby , fetching and carrying things and keeping him amused.
"He gets lots of smiles from Loan in return."
