Governor Ibikunle Amosun of ogun state, southwest Nigeria, has forwarded a list of 16 Commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening.
The letter, containing names of the nominees and 20 special advisers, was read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi during the plenary.
Adekunbi, while reading the letter, stated that the approval would enable the governor to appoint the Commissioners that would support him to steer the affairs of the state creditably.
The letter also stated that the governor seeks the approval of the House to appoint 20 Special Advisers.
Findings revealed that six of the Commissioners who worked with the governor in his first term would be returning.
They are: Otunba Bimbo Ashiru (Commerce & Industry), Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite (Works & Infrastructure), Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo (Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs), Mrs Kemi Adeosun (Finance), Mrs Ronke Sokefun (Agriculture) and Mrs Yewande Amusan (Culture & Tourism).
Some of the new faces in the list include: Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, Hon. Mr Jide Ojuko, Mr Gbenga Ademosun, Mr Bolaji Oyeleye, Arch. Segun Abiodun, Dr.(Barr.) Olumide Ayeni, and Barr. Leke Adewolu.
Others are: Afuwape Afolabi, Chief Kolawole Wasiu Lawal and Mr Sunday Segun Bamiwola.
The Speaker while assuring the people of the state that they will expedite action on the screening, asked the nominees to appear before the House of Assembly with 30 copies of their resumes and their original certificates on 7 October, 2015 by 10:00am for screening.
